Have you no other browsers installed that you can use.Does your E-Mail still works send yourself an e-mail with Firefox on it.

Can you open Internet Options in control panel. If so go to advanced and press reset.

back up your files onto an external drive, reinstall xp and then reinstall the drivers one by one and when doing the drivers u b prompted to restart do that, don't restart later as some drivers may conflict one another.

once you have done that id ie is working go filehippo dot com and download avast ant virus, zone alarm and firefox.

i have problems with ie and the to resolve it i use to do the above.

these days i use acronis backup.

you have double checked all your connections and looked for loose connection on your router and your motherboard, i use to have loose connection on my motherboard, i just had to plug it back in.

I your motherboard make sure you ground yourself using an anti static wrist clip.

To clarify buteman's suggestion, on the pc you are on now, that you are able to go on the Internet, download the program Firefox and then email the program as an attachment. Or you could save it to a pen drive and then put it on your pc and install it (Firefox)

re Internet Explorer - It might be one of your Add-ons that has corrupted IE. Will it open up ok if you start it from:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)

that's for XP
