can't find 2nd memory slot acer aspire 2000

I want to upgrade the memory of my acer laptop from 500MB to 2 GB. However, when I remove the panel at the back I can only see 1 memory slot. All documentation etc. I have read says there should be 2. I have replaced the old card and now have 1.28GB of memory. Does anybody know where I can find the 2nd slot + card?

Many thanks
Jos

Usually the RAM slots are together (as in my Acer) with one directly on top of the other.
I have heard of some laptops with RAM under the keyboard etc too.

Perhaps if you post the model number someone may know.

The clue is in the title.

Had a quick look at the Manual available from click here Looks like the other RAM slot is on the reverse side of the motherboard to the one you`ve found. Which should put it underneath the keyboard as mooly suggested.

Well spotted ;)

Great! Looks like the manual should be able to talk me through the process of getting to the 2nd one and it was a free download too! Many thanks guys!

Start with the keyboard removal sequence and see if it`s accessible from there. Thanks for the feedback by the way.
