My friend has an Acer Aspire 5810TG laptop, Win7 home premium. When he tries to connect to tv via hdmi lead, nothing happens. Have tried the usual, driver updates, messing around with screen res to duplicate monitor etc. When I plug hdmi into laptop it does not detect the tv. Hdmi lead and tv ok as my laptop sees the tv under devices and printers and my laptop works ok. My mate sez it used to work so anybody got any ideas ?

Usually the Tv controls you would need to use to find the connection.it was with me.

I think you have to look for hdmi connection on the TV and click on to that.

It is a laptop problem. Mine works ok. Laptop not detecting tv. Does not show up in devices and printers. When I connect to my laptop , hdmi works ok.

Usually one of the F buttons switches the screen from laptop to TV or go to start/all programs/Accessories/connect to projector.

Are you sure you downloaded the correct drivers?
