Recently tried to establish an ICS on my laptop to share the internet connection with other computers through setting a small or home office network and failed and now cannot connect to internet through LAN or PCMCIA CDMA wireless modem. Tried the RUIM card of the PCMCIA CDMA modem on another laptop and it connected to the internet. Downloaded a winsockxpfix patch. Now when I go to network connections the local area network is disabled and when click to enable it the laptop reboots.Hence I cannot even connect now.

If you use ICS it sets the bridging IP of your PC to 192.168.0.1, which conflicts with many routers. Disable ICS altogether.
