Can't Connect to Internet

I can’t connect to the internet despite my router being connected!

I keep getting page cannot be displayed messages, this started happening last night and I wasn’t doing anything unusual.

I’ve re-booted the router, pulled out all of the leads and re-connected them, done a system restore back to Monday, am running the router directly into the faceplate with filter.

The router diagnostics ( Netgear DG632) say I’m connected.

I haven’t downloaded anything and it’s not the windows update zone alarm problem as I fixed that a couple of weeks ago.

I've switched off ZA and tried but that didn't help.

I’m at work now but would be grateful for some ideas to try when I get home.

"The router diagnostics ( Netgear DG632) say I’m connected." but is it the internet connection or the connection from the PC to the router?
Is the i on the front of the router lit up green?

All the lights are on.

Check your connection settings:

Internet Explorer>properties> connections tab.

Make sure your connection is present. Then tick the "never dial a connection" button. Then Apply.

Are you set to work offline by any chance?

My DNSserver settings had somehow been altered!I certainly didn't do it and no one else uses this PC.
But, after help from Tech support, I'm now up and running again.

Thanks all.
