can't change properties of read only files

  trigger2 11:41 24 Apr 03

after copying files from back-up cdrw disc back onto hard drive of my home pc i am unable to save any changes i make to the file, i get a message saying file is read only and i do not have administrator rights to change, i can right click file, select properties and uncheck read only box but after applying and closing properties box the file reverts back to read only!
have i always got to save files as another name (which is a real pain with lots of files) to overcome this or is there a simpler answer ?
i run windows ME & office XP

Good afternoon,

CROA (Clear Read Only Attributes) from click here will do the trick for you.

NOTE: Files to be zapped need to be in a folder for CROA to work on them.

Regards, M
