cant boot windows xp

I have windows xp home and when I turn the computer and monitor on IL get the company logo and then the usual dos type menu and then a blank screen. I have tried safe mode but all I get is a list of drivers and a locked screen.I have also tried the recovery console but didn't manage that either. I dont have a boot disk for xp. Can anybokdy help!

XP does not need a boot disk, just the CD itself.

to Djohn,
thank you but i do believe i did not receive a windkows xp cd when i bought. never needed it till now. i must pay a visit to the kpeople that supplied me!

Have you got any CD's at all with the PC?
