Cant activate windows on my laptop

Hi - I have just bought two laptops - barebones for my two kids. I have installed windows xp - my own legit copy, bought and paid for and installed on my main PC.
So I put a copy on each laptop and went online to activate it - but it will only activate one - says I have had my quoto of uses and to try a different activation key - which I dont have.
Has anyone had this problem - will I have to buy another copy?

You only have a licence to install Windows XP on one machine (your main PC). You have to have a legit version for each computer you use so you will have to buy another copy (strictly speaking you should buy 2 copies - one for each laptop).

You can only activate it on one machine as per license.

If you want to use it on more than one at a time, you may be able to buy a license from windows, cheaper than a new copy.
It may be worth asking Microsoft on there free telephone number.

Ah - ha, I see - hope it wont cost me too much then - I will go and have a search.
