I've had the above scanner for about 18 months and it works fine if I scan from other applications (Paintshop pro, Word etc) However, if I use the provided software (Scangear Toolbox 3.2) It dies telling mr I've insufficient memory. Which is nonsense. I can get no help from Canon who don't answer. I imagine it's a driver problem but re-installing does no good and there doesn't appear to be an upgrade on trher website. Any Ideas?

At what point does it tell you about the insufficient memory? Is the scan setting too high? If so try setting it at 300 dpi and see if the message repeats.

Thanks for your response Taff. Been away for a couple of days.
The error occurs AFTER the scan is complete. Changing the dpi had no effect and yet evrything functions perfectly if I use any other application. The problem clearly lies with the SCANGEAR TOOLBOX which came packaged. Oddly enough it works fine if I wish to use OCR!!

No Problems. How much RAM do you have installed and how much spare HDD space. Where is your swap file?
