Can anyone explain how to transfer data files created on a Canon StarWriter 70 to a PC for use and archiving in Word. The data is on floppy discs.

Thanks Yoda but I can't find that out until tomorrow, I'll come back again then. Regards.

I've got the same question - how to transfer files. The extension is .000 - any ideas?

When I was a medical school, one of my fellow students wrote all of his work using a Starwriter - by that time almost obsolete. When it came to submit his written papers, his machine irreparably broke down but, confident that the floppy disk he had made would be readable in anything, he handed the disk to the college computer department for them to print it out. They couldn't. Nothing they had would read the disk.

After weeks of panic he eventually located someone with a Starwriter via an advert in a local paper and got his stuff printed out.

In short, I don't think it can be done. It is a system unique to Canon.

The frist sentence should read "When I was at - - -", not as I've written.

More errors. I'm giving up.

I think I've a cold coming on.

I agree with €dstowe, I don't think you can but you could always try the Canon Helpdesk on 08705 143 723 and see what they say.
