Canon Printer won't print

I have a Canon Pixma iP4500 wich has run trouble-free for several years. It has now stopped printing. It goes through the print cycle (print head shuttles back & forth etc), shows no error messages, but the page comes out completely blank. Any ideas out there?

I take it you've checked to see if there is ink in the cartidges? Not only that, could anyone have removed them either intentionally (for a laugh) or intending to replace. Failing either of those options have you cleaned the heads lately?

Provided the cartridges have ink in them the likely cause is blockage in the print head. Several remedies may work such as soaking the head in situ or removing it and cleaning or at a push replacing it. Have a look at suggestions here or here and maybe consider the cleaner sold here. If you choose to buy a replacement printhead.
