Canon printer model to suit carts?

  spider9 11:00 09 Sep 04

Have a canon i550 (very pleased with it), want to buy another Canon printer, but lesser spec and cost (as a 2nd casual printer) but with the same cartridges, so that I can 'bulk' order inks and keep things simple!! The ink sellers have lists which will take your model and produce the correct number cart - I need to go the opposite way and for a given Canon cartridge find out which models use it?
Any ideas?

Forget that last post. Just checked a bit further down and they are different. Will come back again shortly.

All I can find now are the BJC 3000 series and the BJC 6000 series printers.

If you look on the box that the cartridge(s) came in, it often says which model printer(s) they are suitable for.

Thanks, all.
My carts (compatibles) just say BJC-3000 and 6000, so it looks like that's possibly it.
Managed to get some ideas from the link, spuds, now going to research the models. Thanks again to all.

Have just spoken to a friend who supplies compatible ink (and original) cartridges. He tells me that the Canon S400/450 S600/750 and S630 printers also take the BCI3 cartridges. Hope this is of some help. If you want to check it out go to click here

I use a bjc 3000 and am very satisfied. Good output, can make it print black just from black (instead of mixture)and it produces good photo quality even using "ordinary" ink (not photo quality). I've had cartridges refilled by Cartridge World, but find it also works well on Dixon's compatibles. I can recommend the 3000.

Did find a variety of models from the link, spuds, but it seems that they are no longer obtainable. i750/800/950, S400/450/500/600/750/800/900, BJC 3000/6000/8200, would all do - but cannot find sellers! Superceded?
Oh well, back to the drawing board!
Thanks to all again.
