Canon Pixma Paper Feed Selection Problem

  bartonside 21:59 19 Jan 10

I have encountered a strange problem with my Pixma 1600 which has two paper trays - a cassette which feeds through a U-bend path and a straight through paper tray at the rear, basically designed for photo paper though I shall be using it to print on 300gsm card (it will do that). I am not keen on feeding a large number of label sheets from the cassette but when, in printer properties, I change the feed to rear tray, Pixma ignores that and draws from the cassette. However, I have discovered that normal Word documents and just about everything else happily obeys the rear tray command. Hmm.... Any ideas?

My experience is that some software has paper source as default & it is a pain to change it on a job-by-job basis (one example I had it was impossible - a program bug). Identify the software that causes the problem and you will find the experts on this forum will have a solution for you.
