Canon Pixma iP1800 - integral print heads?

  Daibus 13:41 23 Feb 08

I am considering buying a Canon Pixma iP1800 printer but am not sure if this printer uses integral print heads fitted on the cartridge itself?

Grateful for the information.

Found the following on if it helps you?

"Some printers have cartridges with a print head built into them but in the Canon IP range they're fitted into the machine and cost too much to be worth replacing."

Thank you for your reply and it is quite right that most Canon printers have the print head fitted into the machine but I read somewhere that the Pixma iP1800 has an integral print head fitted on the cartridge.

That's why I am a bit confused.

Many thanks for the link and it does look as though the heads are integrated with the cartridge on this particular model.

Any opinions or advice regarding ink filler kits?

I see they are available for this and other printers and was wondering if the process generally meets with success?

Sorry, can't offer advice as I have never used them, nor have any of my relatives or friends.

No doubt someone else will offer an opinion here though.
