Canon MPC 200 waste tank full - how to fix

My MPC 200 printer scanner, gave this waste tank full message, even though i cleaned it out, the message needs to be reset.

I modified this procedure to make it easier for anyone to use if they need to clear the counter in the EEprom.

Try this to reset the waste tank ink counter:

procedure follows

1) Enter SERVICE MODE.---By pressing the Menu key (oblong button) then - Copy-Scan-Copy-Copy (copy button is far left – scan button is in middle)
2) Select TEST MODE by pressing minus key once, then click OK.
3) Select item [8] PRINTER TEST by clicking minus key once, then click OK,
4) Select option -8-3 in menu list EEPROM CLEAR by using + - keys, then click OK
5) Select option 0 displayed. INK COUNT.
6) Press the OK key. Printer returns to option 8-3.
7) Press the STOP (red triangle button), and then press the ON/OFF key once.
Printer will restart and waste tank error is cleared.
