Canon MP272 paper feed

Hi. Can anyone help with a problem on my just-out-of-warranty MP272 all-in-one? It still prints fine when I print from MS word, etc. But when I use it as a copier and press SCAN, there is a problem in the paper path with the paper jamming to some extent on one side, so that at best the image is crooked, at worst the sheet jams completely. I can't understand why the paper feed should be any different between ordinary printing and scan-and-print. Has anyone else experienced this, or have any ideas?
