I have a Canon Pixma ip4200 printer and would like to know how to refill the ink cartridges, I have managed to refill them but the Red light stays on, how do I reset it.

But you may find it easier, quicker and less messy to buy compatible cartridges rather than refill them.

sadly I think you're right; no compatibles yet available for the ip4200.

I got an ip3000 just in time; compats available for it and work very well.

Perhaps I'm missing something but this link (for the yellow version for the Canon IP4200) lists several models it fits:

and this e-Bay link is for one orginal and four compatibles:

You're right, these chipped carts do fit several recent models, and your ebay link does indeed say compatibles. It's the first I have seen. The following wording also caught my eye:-
"NO Refill!
- with the compatibles the chip of the previous cartridges is needed
- a detailed guidance is attached"
Sounds like it might involve a bit of messing about cannibalising the old carts!

Still waiting to see if any of the UK suppliers can do a chipped compatible cartridge.
