Using XP Home Edition after a crash I have rebooted and now cannot copy any files to CD on my CD-RW,I get a message saying "E Drive inaccessable" and "Files/Folders write protected or in use by another program". Am I in serious trouble and how can I rectify the problem.

I doubt that you are in serious trouble!

Anyway, open my computer

right click on the cd-rw drive

choose properties

Check if the option to use as a writable disk it checked.

Done that checked all the drive properties and they are saying that the drives are fine and enabled

right click "My Computer">select properties>Hardware and then the device manager tab

Click the plus sign on CD roms, select your drive, right click on it and select uninstall

Restart your computer and all should be well
