Cannot stop XXX Toolbar from attempting to install

On Startup I get a message that 'I have a script problem & that it may cause my pc to run slow, do I want to continue with the script Yes\No'. If I click yes, XXX toolbar attempts to install. If I click no it does not attempt the install. I am sure that it is doing other things to my pc. Ideas please.

Select 'no'.

Disagree with everything.

Go into the 'Add/Remove Programs' portion of 'Control Panel' and you will find entries relating to advert material. Remove these. I think the one you speak of is actually listed simply as 'XXX Toolbar' so it should be pretty easy to find. Then download, install and run Ad Aware 6, with updated ad definitions.

Tadaa! :o)

Be wary of an entry called 'Internet Optimizer' aswell, it's also an alias for ad placement. I found this out through Ad Aware 6 also.

Msconfig - Startup tab - look for 'xxxtoolbar' or similar and remove tick
restart
