Cannot play AVI file

I've copied some files onto a disc which were in AVI format. They now will not open for some reason.Windows media player says that it does not support the files,or support the codecs used to compress the file.Power dvd says it's an unknown format also. These files were playing fine on my pc before i copied them. How can i get these to play,as i've already deleted the originals.Thanks.

Have a go with JetAudio. Download it free from click here scroll down to the bottom and select "Basic Download"

I use JetAudio for all my Audio/Files. Never failed me yet.

I just tried double clicking an AVI file in Windows Explorer and it opened and played in JetAudio.
