When i start my computer it posts ok and the windows logo appears then the screen goes blank and srtays that way.I can hear the sound of the windows opening music but can see nothing.

I did a repair with the windows cd and windows came on ok but the next time i booted it was back to a blank screen.I have also put new ribbon cables on and changed the monitor lead.Anyone any ideas about this as i'm stuck.Thanks.

Have you tried safe mode and reinstalled graphics drivers?

How did you do a system restore with a blank monitor?

You could restart and keep tapping the F8 key just before the Windows screen loads. Then select Last Known Good Configuration from the menu that should appear.

I managed to get into system restore in safe mode once and went back to the only restore point i had as windows xp was only installed 2 days ago.I'll try last known good configuration.
