cannot move or resize the taskbar

  Gmax 19:37 25 Mar 08

I have just recovered a friends computer (windows XP SP2) but now the taskbar is just off screen. I can just about click the top and it is not locked, I also cannot move any desktop items (auto-arrange is not on).

Any help will be greatly appreciated

To pull up the task bar and make it visible - hover the cursor on the top edge that's showing - you should see a double-headed arrow. Click and drag the edge upward.

Try F11, which is used to toggle the screen display with and without the Toolbar and Taskbar.

Have you tried adjusting the size and position settings on the monitor in case the display is just too big and the desktop is exceeding the visible area?

I have tried all of the above to no avail.
