Cannot get windows updates

When I try to get windows xp updates through the start pannel or IE tools option,it gives me the option to get express or custom but when I click on either it says the website has encounterd a problem and cannot display the page you're trying to view?Can anyone help me here please?

Start - Run - type - services.msc - press ok

Scroll down to Background Intelligent transfer service high light it right click select properties in the Sartup type drop down box select Automatic and click on Start click OK.

retry the update.

No.I googled the error code(0x8024402c)and it's something to do with a missing character in the proxy settings?

Thanks folks.It was something to do with Comodo.After turning off comodo I could access the updates ok.
