Cannot delete Folder

  Curio 14:32 11 Aug 08

In Windows XP SP2.
Get the message Error deleting file or folder.
Cannot delete Title> Cannot find specified file.
Make sure you specify the correct path and file name.

Initially tried to delete File and content. The content deleted but left the folder behind. Have tried reinstalling to the folder but no joy. Tried moving file to another drive to delete there. No joy. Reason for removal, this folder is messing up my Backup routine, which refuses to complete. Any offers of help gratefully accepted.

Usually a file in use cannot be deleted. If your backup programme is accessing it then it will be in use.

Have you tried deleting it in Safe Mode?

Unlocker should remove it on the next restart

Agree with Ditch999. Try Safe mode.

I have a similar problem. Have not found a proper solution, but have used MoveOnBoot programme to work round it.

Just an idea can you rename the folder and then delete it.

Can you right click the folder and take ownership?

Right click and select Properties/Security/Advanced/Owner

Tried Unlocker. Did not solve the problem.
