Cannot delete desktop icons

Not sure if anyone can help with this but here goes.

I have had broadband for a while now with an ISP called Freedom 2 Surf. I bought my own ADSL modem; SAMSUNG AHT-E310 ADSL Modem.

The problem is, ever since I have installed the modem drivers I have two icons that have appeared on my desktop, “SAMSUNG AHT-E310 Control Panel” and “Connect To ADSL”.

Whenever I delete these icons (I like a clutter free desktop!) they simply come back the next time I logon. I am running Windows XP Pro on a workgroup with two user accounts. I have checked to make sure the icons are not present in the Desktop folder on "All Users", the two profiles or on administrator profile.

Any ideas?!? More than anything it's an irritation! I want control of my own desktop!!!!

Right click on the icons, select properties then select hidden.

Unfortunately hiding the icons didn’t make a difference, they still came back on next logon!

Have you tried asking SAMSUNG for any advice they may be able to give you?
