Cannot connect to Internet

Previously I could connect to the internet by just clicking on Internet Explorer & then just clicking on EMail to connect.

Now I have to go into start ,then control panel,
then connect through network.
How can I go back to original easy way,thanks in advance guys.

If on broadband have you tried.Tools.Internet Options.Connections.Lan settings.And tick automatically detect settings.ok.Apply.Ok

I am not connected through Lan & your method does not work.

My connection is the one above through Tiscali Broadband which is using a Speedtouch Broadband modem.

When I go into options in this settup there are 4 choices and non is ticked.Should I tick any of them?
display Progress
Prompt for Name and PW
Include windows logon
Prompt for phone number

Sorry don't know anything about Tiscali.I would try ticking Include Windows logon and see if it makes any difference.You can always untick it later if it does not.

Without doing anything it finally came back to its previous setting and it works which is fine.
