Cannot connect to browser

  coolteentom 14:58 17 Feb 07

I currently have a network between a PC and a laptop through a router.

The PC is connect via ethernet cable, while the laptop is connected via wireless. Recently, on the laptop, I lost the ability to connect to any browser on the system, whilst still being able to check my e-mail and connect to IM's.

The PC, however, is still completely functional.

When I try and ping my router IP ( on either system, I get no responses.

Any help greatly appreciated,

No idea if this is connected, I see you mention that any browser fails to connect is that the case because after one of the windows updates it altered my Internet Explorer so my firewall couldn't identify it and would not let it connect. But I could and did connect via Firefox which I fortunately had on the PC as well.
Went into the firewall program allowed the new Internet Explorer to access the internet and that was it.
Regardless of whether this is the case with you or not its worth having a look in case your firewall is what is blocking the connection.
