Cannot change desktop settings

HELP, I just ran scandisk and regfix, tried to restart in ms dos and type in the command, the program ran and when I restarted my PC the settings had all changed and they won't set back to how they were originally. I can't reset the picture size, and the most colour setting I can get is 16 bit, when I could get 32 bit before. I had to reinstall WinDVD4, and after I had done that I had an error message Fatal Exception 0028:C719CC30 in VXD AFVXD (01) + 00000A90. Somebody PLEASE help me retify this problem

What OS

  prima12 20:58 05 Jun 04

Sorry Win98 se

  woodchip 21:01 05 Jun 04

This sounds like the Win.ini as been replaced if Win98 go to C:\windows\ and look to see if there is a win.bak if there is, do this right click on win.ini and choose rename choose Win.old then change win.bac to win.ini as if you do not do that you will need to reload your graphics drivers

I`m assuming you can go to system restore in
accessories - system tools. If so try restoring to the previous day. It might work, if not I`m sorry, I can`t help any further. Eamonncw

Win.Bak not bac to Win.ini

  prima12 21:12 05 Jun 04

Can't find this Win.Bak anywhere. I'm afraid I'm now not thinking straight. Exactly where should I be looking?

Windows 98 does not have System Restore.

Have gone into 'Find' and got Win.Ini but doesn't find Win.Bak

You could just put your Graphics card drivers disc in the comp and just run that. It will correct matters
