Cannot Add any Printers in Control Panel

I'm running XP Home and have recently swapped my Brother laser for an Epson Aculaser colour laser.

For some reason, over the weekend, all my printers have disappeared from the Printers & Faxes box under Control Panel and when I click Add Printer I get the error message 'Operation could not be completed' with a red X.

Looked on the Microsoft web-site and can't find any help, and have also restarted the spool queue under Services, but am now despairing of what I need to do to get my printers back

Only thing I can think of is to do a System Restore. I did find this click here on the MKB but I think you've tried that.
