Check the connections,

Is your keyboard and mouse cordless? Check the batteries. If USB, try a different USB port. If Wireless (as in Radio) try changing the Channel.

Thanks to all for your replies.

Nuts...My pc boots as normal to the log on screen. However, the mouse cursor is in the middle of the screen and does not move. My operating systems is XP SP 2

mfletch.. I have checked these and all appears well.

Technotiger..My keyboard and mouse are wireless. However, I have connected up wired versions but no change.

I hope this extra info is of help.

Clear the CMOS on your motherboard with the jumper pins beside the battery. Refer to your mobo manual.

Usually when the cursor is just stuck in the middle of the screen, the fault is with the mouse, not the keyboard. Can you try your original keyboard and maybe a couple of different little rodents?

  Angry Kid 13:42 29 Apr 08

I have tried a wired mouse and this has not made any difference.

By "Wired", Technotiger will mean PS2, rather than USB.
