How do I prevent programs running automatically after starting PC.

There are a couple of ways, filip. Go to your Startup folder and remove any mention of them from that folder. Or, more likely, go to Start > Run, type in "msconfig" (without the quotes), press OK and click on the Startup tab, then remove the tick from the offending program's entry/ies. Click Apply and OK to exit, then reboot your PC.

If you click start>> run >> in the run box type msconfig press enter. The in the new window the last tab is start up, un-check any of the programs that you do not want to start on start up. Click apply and re-boot.

When the pc re-starts a window will open tell you that you are running in diagnostic mode, check the box bottom L/H corner to stop that message showing every-time.

Why is this sort of thing not made more easily by Bill Gates for people like me?
