Can only burn to CDRW (and not to CDR)

I'm using Pinnacle Video Studio to edit video clips. When I come to burn the finished piece of film I am unable to burn to ANY brand of CDR but CAN burn to any brand of CDRW. Is there a logical reason for this please? (Having burned to a CDRW disk I can then burn the contents of the disk to a CDR by doing a 'disc copy' in Nero. Thanks.

I take it you're using Pinnacle to burn the CD in the first place.

In my experience, and from reading other posts in this forum, it is best to use video editing software only for video editing, and to use a separate burning software for putting the finished video onto CD or DVD.

Have you tried using Pinnacle to render an MPEG file in the appropriate format, and then Nero to burn it onto a video CD?
