Can my friend download Excel

  frenchman96 16:00 06 Sep 07

My friend recently bought a Toshiba Satellite (like mine) but not sure what model.

It has XP home but he does not have Word or Excel, he obviously has some equivalent but he would like Excel especially, and Word if possible.

What should he do, if he can to download them, go to M/S ??

As he has gone on holiday, I will d/l to a cd or dvd if poss.

Use OpenOffice instead. Free, reads and writes Office documents. click here

If your friend absolutely insists upon using MS Word; Excel, etc. he must go out and buy an MS Office CD.

Simple as that. You cannot download it.

Good idea, I have a download on disk but just checked and its an old version, am on site now looking. I assume it has a spreadsheet on it.

If he insists, is it any version of Office

I agree with brundle; OpenOffice is the best solution.

Copy the installation file to the hard-drive and then run it. It extracts the installation files to a folder then executes the installer.
