Can I backup iTunes music onto DVD/CD. I know there are DRM issue that limit the number of devices they can be played on. However my purpose is to write to DVD, reinstall windows, and then transfer them back to the computer.

Can I just burn them to a DVD in the same way I can with photos and files, and will they play when copied back, once windows is reinstalled, or will I run into problems with DRM or even folder names etc. I would hate to do it and find I've lost them all !

Just back up the I Tunes folder in "My Music" or wherever else you save them to. Then reinstall the folder when you are ready.
