I need to upgrade my wireless router. I have TalkTalk broadband via a phone line and don't plan to upgrade. I can either buy a new modem router or can I connect my old modem router to a new router via WAN?

I cannot see the point you are making! If you are on TalkTalk you should have been supplied with a Wireless Modem from TT.

If you want to use a Android Phone as a modem yes you should be able to if you check under settings WiFi hot/spot

I need to upgrade the modem that talktalk supplied.

So either need to buy modem router from talktalk or someone else or but new wireless router and use the Huawei as modem only.

If you buy a new wireless router why would you need the Huawei.

Why do you need to purchase a router/modem from TalkTalk or anywhere else, you already have the Huawei HG520B, which will provide the necessary broadband service, either via wireless or cable?.
