Hi guys,
Does anybody know how I can have my newly fitted internal wifi Atheros 2414A start on boot up in my acer TravelMate 2700 laptop, as it is I have to wait till its finished booting then press the wifi on button to activate the wifi thus wasting time. is there a way to configure start on boot up. XP Pro sp2

I would have thought that what you are experiencing is normal - surely windows has to be running first before the wifi can operate.

I know what you are saying but I want te service to start automatically

I am pretty sure it cannot be done automatically.

OK - sorry I could not offer anything better for you.

You should be able to get the wireless to connect automatically once Windows has loaded click here may help you. It is not specific to your card but suggests some ways of getting this job done.

Is life so short that you cant wait a few seconds?

  geewis357 21:59 01 Aug 08

I can wait a few seconds but why should I, in this day of custermisations and IT technology its all to do with automatic settings that make computing. With the old netgear external pci card all I had to do was to turn the laptop on and wait for it to boot and heay presto a fully functioning pc and now its like a step backwards
