Can I easily go back to xp from vista

I did an acer vista upgrade on my daughters acer laptop. It only has 512mb ram which I know is not really enough. It runs pretty slow loading up etc because of this.Is it easy to revert back to xp to get some speed back. Will I have to start from scratch, formatting etc or when the upgrade was done should it have backed up the xp somewhere?
may thanks

You'll have to format the drive and install XP again, then get all your XP updates again. Go to your laptop's manfacturers website and download all you laptop's XP drivers, if you don't have them already.

It depends if you made the right selections when you upgraded, if you did then it willl have stored a compresed version of your XP somewhere on the drive.
