Can I do a full XP reinstall without losing data?

Hi. I am using Windows XP and I have had this operating system on my hard drive for over 2 years and I have NEVER done a re-installation as I use Drive Image 7 to create an 'image'.

Does anyone know that if I completely re-install XP is it possible to get JUST my applications, programs, registry entries back from the 'image' file?
If not I will leave it alone as it is too much hassle reinstalling EVERYTHING again!

you can just put your xp disk into the computer at start up and do a repair install which does just that it reloads all the windows files and doesnt touch any of your programmes so no need to work with the image file.
