Can I delete unwanted tracks in my audio library?

I seem to have stored every CD track I have ever played on my computer and my audio library is huge, un-necessary and contains tracks I didn't even know I had. Is there anyway to delete from the Windows Media Player audi library. The only options i seem to have are to put them on the playlist or delete them from the playlist. Help!

click file/edit current playlist then click artist or video etc on the left.on the right it will show the playlist and if you right click the track then you can choose delete from playlist or if you want to delete it permanently choose delete from library, and my computer.

you will find loads of sample material in media player 9.

Thanks for that - I've deleted loads but still have multiple copies of everything on there - I'm going to be deleting for days!
