can i connect internet to laptop from desktop's connection?

hi i have bought a new dell laptop and my desktop already had a bsnl broad band connect with a wireless modem..... now i want to use connect to that internet through my laptop..... i have Bluetooth option in my laptop can i connect using Bluetooth with out disturbing my desktop connections????

You should be able to connect to your wireless modem(?) the same as your desktop without it affecting the desktop.

no no actually can we connect by bluetooth without wires???? i mean cant it work in both desktop and laptop at same time?

Does your laptop have a wireless card? U would think so if it has bluetooth.

You can connect to your wireless modem and use the laptop and desktop at the same time.

Post your laptop make and model and your modem make and model and we can advise further.

Bluetooth is not the correct technology for internet access - as a networking protocol it is far too slow. If the Laptop has a Wireless Network Adapter installed, which a new one almost certainly will, that is what you'll use to connect to the wireless router.

You can connect the Laptop via the Desktop's connection using what's called Internet Connection Sharing, but I'm sure that's not what you are meaning to do.
