Can i change the size of an already partitioned hard drive?

I have split my single hard drive into 2 partitions. I have realised i should have given more memory to one partition, so i am wondering if there is software which will let me change the size of them, eg take spare memory from partition 1 to increase partition 2, without having to reformat the entire drive and lose any content? thanks
