The card in my old Samsung 800k is approx 1.5inc by 1.25 inc which is bigger than the one taken by my new Kodak.

If I order one via the internet how do I know that I am getting the right size one please?

(Or is my Samsung so old that they don't make them that size any more!)

The card is an old type.

Your new card takes a SD or MMC Card. All cards will fit then MB size just refers to the amount of memory on the chip. Physically one size SD / MCC card is indistinguishable from another.

Your card is probably CompactFlash. Have a look at the pictures on this site and see if you can recognise one, click here. You'll find the prices on this site very competitive too.

According to Google a Samsung 800k appears to be a digital camcorder not a digital camera. Is that correct?

Your new CAMERA takes a SD or MMC Card.

All cards SD or MMC cards will fit.

The MB size just refers to the amount of memory on the chip.

Physically one SD or MCC card is indistinguishable from another.

Digimax 800K Camera (my old one)

Hi Halmer, I found the Digimax 800 here click here (but watch out for the popups), and it uses SmartMedia memory.

Yes the Samsung takes Smartmedia and your Kodak takes SD so with the 8 in 1 card reader you can still use either camera and download to your PC.

The Secure Digital card is actually a Multimedia Card with built-in encryption support; most digital cameras will take both SD and MultiMedia cards, but it is wise to check first.

Thanks. I wasn't sure myself about the differences (Mine takes xD cards) but Halmers camera takes both.
