Camcorder to PC - rubbish quality

My Camcorder has USB, DV(Firewire) and AV outputs.
AV transfers to standalone DVD recorder are brilliant, transfer to PC via USB is atrocious - muddy & out of focus. PC World suggest buying a Firewire Card and Cable. Firewire and USB2 seem to transfer data at roughly the same speed, will Firewire really make much difference?

Yes it will,as the transfer rate is quicker.

USB 2 is 400, Firewire is 480 will that really make such a difference?

Looks like Firewire 800 is the answer. Thanks.

"......will that really make such a difference?" - I think that there is probably only one way to find out and that is to buy and install a firewire card. They relatively inexpensive and easy to install.

I don't find £20 for the CABLE "relatively inexpensive", but thanks anyway.

Get the cable off Ebay...half the price !! :-)

Nor would I, but then you don't have to pay that much, for example click here or click here
