Calculate days between dates in Excel

I need an Excel formula which can count the number of days between dates. The answer must include both the start date and the end date.

For instance, if I have 2 October 2006 in one cell and 6 October 2006 in another cell; the total number of days is 5 including both the first date and the last date.

How do I calculate this in Excel?

Thanks in anticipation.

=DATEDIF(A1,B1,"d")+1

where the earlier date ia in A1, the later date in B1. Format the result cell as Number.
