C Drive

I think I have had this problem before but after looking through my postings I cannot see it.
When I click on my computer local disc C appears in blue writing and when I double click on my C drive several of the contents of the drive are also printed in blue but not all of them.Does anyone have a explanation for this.

Right click on the C: drive, select "Properties", under the General tab see if there's a tick in the box for "Compress drive to save disk space"

The Blue locked files are swap files that are being used by Windows

any Blue files that have a $ infront are uninstall points have MS updates and can be deleted if everything is running ok

As Gongoozler says blue files are files that have been compressed.

By default Update files in the Windows folder are compressed and therefore are blue in a blue font.

Sorry FruitBat but the pagefile (swapfile) cannot be compressed and is therefore not in a blue font.
