One of our PCs has Windows 98SE.

We want to upgrade to XP professional.

The PC has 50GB HDD
384 m,b Ram

Overclockers has XP Professional OEM for £83.95, which is a very good price.

The OEM version comes without full boxing.

Is this version a suitable upgrade as the full one is about £259.00?

I would appreciate your advice

Check with OCUK that the price includes a licence.

Assuming it is licensed, no problem.

OEM is for a clean install, I don't think you can use an OEM disk to Upgrade.

But I may be wrong.

Windows XP whether Full, Upgrade or OEM will all "Upgrade" a previous version of windows (From 98 onwards). The only thing is an Upgrade version will not allow a clean installation without at least a previous windows disk being available to qualify.

Go for the OEM - you will be fine with it.
