Buying Laptop - advice appreciated

Hi

I bought my 1st laptop, an Asus EEE pc in Nov 07 & for £230 was very impressed. So was a friend of mine who ordered one but has been messed around by the retailer regarding stock & is awaiting a refund.

In the meantime he has decided he wants one with a DVD drive in order to play movies whilst caravanning & would also be more comfortable with Windows XP rather than The Linux based Xandros.

Can anybody please recommend a little laptop which isnt too much more than the EEE pc?

All it will be used for is general web surfing & watching movies, an XP-based one will I guess also keep down the cost as the hardware requirements wont be as high as a Vista based laptop.

Many thanks

Gareth.
