Burning Errors

Hi All

I am using windows XP PRO (SP2) AMD2200 80GBHDD 1GBRAM 128mbDDR Graphics card and a 8X DVD WRITER (pikaone)

The problem is this

When i endeavour to burn anything with a DATAWRITE DVD+R disc (4.7gb) i get a burn error all the time. If i use a sony DVD+R (DPR120N2) i do not.

Now i have noticed that on the sony discs they have a big RW sign above the DVD+R and on the DATAWRITE discs they do not.

I have also tried PC-LINE discs which i do not get an error with.

Any ideas why? Is it anything to do with the RW sign on the DVD+R case (and no that RW sign does not mean re-writable). I have also noticed the RW sign on the DVD-WRITER as well.

Any ideas will be appreciated as i am paying £12.99p for 10 sony's or £8.99p for 25 DATAWRITES.

Not all discs work with all DVD drives there a compatibility issues somtimes updated firmware can fix this problem). If a disc does not work for you try another brand.Have a look here click here

found this on amazon "After 8 coasters I finally found out what the problem was with the set up on my DVD writer. Try turning off DMA for the drive in the Device Manager. I also Updated the firmware on the drive to the latest version (details can be found on the BTC website). I am now happily burning away with the cheap, multi format drive."

also need the exact model of the drive to get more info

this is the btc media support table click here some drives are very fussy about media

Have used Datawrite discs myself and to be quite honest they are Crap. I only use Ritek GO4 now and never have a falure. £6 for 25 from click here

just found them

My DVD-Rewriter had RW on it

The DISCS that burn on my writer have RW, the discs that don't burn DO NOT have RW on them

Should burn both. Bin the Datawrite discs and try the Ritek GO4 discs.click here
