Burning a DVD

I would like to burn some movies i have on my PC onto a DVD disk but unfortunately i do not know where to begin. I would like these disks to be allowed to be viewed on my home dvd player but i am not sure how i go about it, are there any special tools i need in order to do this apart from a dvd burner. Could someone talk me through the procedures, these are legit DVD's and not downloaded through some torrent site, i managed to RIP these into my PC but would like to attempt to burn them back onto a disk.
