Can you please tell me what you mean when you simply say, "bump", in response to a member's question?

I have been puzzled by this for some time.

Bump. Whatever.

Just a way of bringing a post back up to the top of the list, ie bumping-up, anything typed would do the same

It's to help keep the post on the first page so that you get help. A lot of people just pop in and out during the day and only read the first page of questions. you can put anything in but bump (as in bump it up) seems to be the most popular.

Thank you, radi8or. Have a nice day.

bump = Bring Up My Post which simply raises the post up the list.

Doesn't necessarily need to be 'bump'. Can be anything, for example: >< bookmarked.
